Members & Friends of Little River UMC,
To lead in times of crisis requires difficult decisions. I do not believe that we need to wait for the Bishop, the Governor or anyone else to ask us to suspend in-person worship. At tonight’s council meeting I will announce that we will not hold in-person worship for at least the next two weeks. Some of our ministries as they relate to the most vulnerable of our community will continue but all a scaled-back basis. This includes Dignity Ministry and Shepherd’s Table.
I will continue to be in the office and available as will staff as long as that is deemed safe and proper. I will continue to offer pastoral care at all levels including hospital visits as allowed.
This two-weeks hiatus will extend to all regularly scheduled meetings at the church.
I will work to develop an online worship experience for the Sundays we are not meeting in-person.
This hiatus will continue as it is necessary for us to be good citizens and leaders in this community.
