Letter From Rev Freeman – In Person Sunday Worship Resumes Jan 17

Dear LRUMC Member & Friends,

It is my goal that we will worship in person each Sunday. We have established protocols that have enabled us to accomplish this since mid-June. The past two Sundays, out of an abundance of caution, I suspended in-person worship.

This Sunday we will return to in-person worship with some enhanced protocols. This will include but not be limited to NO congregational singing. We will offer music and song but ask that you do not sing along.

COVID 19 is an evil and insidious disease. It strikes not only at our personal health but our spiritual health as well. This disease is doing whatever necessary to steal God’s word from us. We can as a community of faith act to ensure that God’s people will meet and will proclaim God’s word. It will continue to look different than we are used to or even prefer but God’s word will be proclaimed.

Please monitor your health and symptoms and do not attend church in-person if you THINK you may be sick. This will help with not spreading the disease throughout the congregation and guard against the need to quarantine due to contact tracing.

When in the church building 1) wear a mask 2) stay six feet apart 3) clean hands.

I look forward to the day when we can stand shoulder to shoulder and boisterously proclaim God’s love in prayer and song. That day is not yet here.  So I am reminded that we can praise God in a still small prayer.

I hope to see you Sunday and if not that you will see me on Facebook.
